The Yummiest Chocolate Cake I’ve ever tried (so far)

I was doing my usual GirlTalk browsing when I chanced on the thread: “Yummiest Chocolate Cake na natikman nyo?” I knew I just had to say:

“Le Royal Cake from Kokihan at the Diamond”

It’s tagged at Php 180 per slice and Php 1,400 for the whole cake. Expensivo? Not really. Especially if you’re a fan of super smooth cakes and Valrhona chocolate. While you’re at it, do make sure that you try the coffee that made them famous:

The Sumibi Coffee: rich, dark, and bold

*sigh* I wish I worked closer to the Diamond Hotel! I’d love to have this for merienda NOW. :)

My Virtual Lunch

Monday + massive work = no lunch
temporary solution = Go to the Dégustation set of my Flickr. Me wants the following now:

Kape Isla’s Penne Aligue
I love it gently burnt like this. It gives of this interesting bitterness against the salty aligue sauce.

Pancake House’s Caesar Salad
Love the sour dressing. Not loving the small serving.

My Corned Beef
Corned beef + fresh thyme (my favorite herb) + chopped green olives + green, black, and red peppercorn + Parmesan cheese. Yes, am maarte like that. My friend Bunny even suggests I throw in thinly sliced chives. That’d just be WOW.

Mmmmm. How about you? What’s for lunch? Thrill me.

FINALLY: Pepper Lunch in MNL

How do I say this gently: “Skip work tomorrow and eat the whole day at Pepper Lunch?”

Seriously–the guys behind this joint are pure geniuses. SC and I were supposed to chow there last Friday (aka. the much awaited opening day) but due to fortuitous events, our chow date’s been moved (errr) one day later. But still…eyelovit!!!

Spot the Difference: Pho 24 Manila and HCM City

A couple of weeks after we got back from Viet Nam, SC and I were craving for some good old pho. We were in Power Plant when this craving kicked in and the timing couldn’t be more perfect as there’s a Pho 24 sitting at the concourse level. We checked the place out and the over-all ambiance was totally different. The lighting was bad (too dark) and the price was just off (100% more)! Since we’re starving and already there, we thought, what the heck, let’s just order!

Vegetables
Where are the mint leaves? I do understand that they’ve probably customized this platter for the Pinoy’s taste and the availability of each sprig but (ugh) this is just plain wrong! I will not in anyway put uncooked togue that looks like that in my mouth!

HCM City
