How do I say this gently: “Skip work tomorrow and eat the whole day at Pepper Lunch?”
Seriously–the guys behind this joint are pure geniuses. SC and I were supposed to chow there last Friday (aka. the much awaited opening day) but due to fortuitous events, our chow date’s been moved (errr) one day later. But still…eyelovit!!!

We love the earlier mentioned!

Rice was served separately.

Look how beautifully it cooked on my table

!!!
Like Anton, the only rant I have is how I smelled like after dining (which is sadly inevitable in dining places like this). I really didn’t mind paying that much because the meat quality’s just fantastic (read: MELTTTTS in your mouth bite after bite). SC even caught me slightly disoriented, looking far away enjoying a single strip but he grabbed my camera too late and ended up snapping me looking like a little girl trying to bag an endorsement deal instead:

EAT AT PEPPER LUNCH! EAT AT PEPPER LUNCH! EAT AT PEPPER LUNCH!
Rice lovers might find paying Php 40/serving a bit steep but trust me: the rice was so white and yummy, enough to take me out of my strict “no rice” diet. Watch out for the fresh burst of flavor from the pepper (they use only the outer shell of the peppercorn) and the sweet and tender carrot slices too.

Thanks for the review Phoebs! How would you compare it to Sizzling Pepper Steak?
Phoebe on 18 May, 2008 at 10:40 am #
You’re welcome, Patty! The Sizzling Pepper Steak (esp. the service) doesn’t even come close to Pepper Lunch. Everything in the earlier mentioned taste like teriyaki to me. My Sizzling Toritama was also served late hence the scrambled egg has already hardened. Here are some photos for your consideration:

Pork Pepper Rice, 155

Sizzling Toritama, 180

US Yakiniku Steak, 285
Also, Sizzling Pepper Steak uses ordinary hot plates. That makes a HUGE difference in cooking the meat.

i was disappointed at my sizzling pepper steak experience..and since you’ve said that this experience trumps the former, i’m really exited to try it out!
thanks Phoebe!
