On martinis and coffee

Were I was yesternoon ’til night:

Pseudo Lazy Friday @ M Cafe

Happy Hour-slash-Bloggers’ Night @ Délifrance

After a (very) quick Chocnut Martini at M Cafe, Jayvee and I worked our way to the corners of Valero and Villar Streets (Makati City) to meet fellow bloggers for a night of coffee and French bites at Délifrance. Délifrance, who’s popular for the best baguettes in town, just amped up the coffee scene here in Manila by fusing their smooth brews with alcohol, aptly calling the campaign Spiked After 5.

While waiting for the program and dinner to start, we were served a round of bites and coffee shots. The rationale behind the shooters? To help us decide what we’d like to be served in full size! ;)

Délifrance’s President Mr. William Tan Untiong gave a short presentation about the campaign before we were served dinner. He mentioned as well that bloggers have a special place in his heart (heeeheee)! :)

Alright! Dinner’s readyyyyy! :P

I love, love, love the fresh prawns on my salad

…and on my pasta!

After dinner, we were served the Flaming Choco Lava Cake*

It’s your call if you want it burned up before it reaches your table

Or right in front of you (my vote goes here)

The texture of the sauce was just right: not too gooey nor sticky

The perfect way to cap a great meal: equally great coffee!

My Mayan Passion Kahlua Iced (PhP 130) was served in a lemon and brown sugar rimmed glass. MAJOR LOVE!!

And just before we were sent home with really full bellies, we were handed loots like this:

Treats for my folks waiting at home!

Overall, I’d say you guys are insane if you’re into coffee and alcohol and you won’t try the spiked coffee by Délifrance. Visit their website at SpikedAfter5.com to find out how you can score FREE spiked coffee at selected branches between March 3-7, 2008.
