The Tuesday Detour

Just because Tomas Morato’s too far for South people like Sasha and myself

After we missed Rhett Eala’s fashion show (darn traffic!) at the Makati Shangri-La, Sasha and I felt that it was time to chow. Of all places, we agreed to dine somewhere in Tomas Morato.

Tomas Morato.
Driving from Ayala Avenue.
Past 7pm.

In less than 10 15 minutes on the road, Tomas Morato became Silver City. :))

Sasha’s French reds

(My stomach’s got a million butterflies that night to get a glass for myself LOL)

working on her white balance

Linguine with Manila clams and tomatoes (PhP 198)* for me

and a Mondial’s Steak Florentine for Sasha (PhP 385)*

My pasta was not salty (which is great since you won’t get that nasty after meal bloat) and it had a decent count of fresh clams and shrimp. I should tell you though that you constantly have to work the pasta around the deep ceramic plate since the oil (there’s at least 3 1/2 tbsp. of oil hiding beneath my pasta) goes down quickly (hence dries the pasta).

Per Sasha, her steak tastes better than how it actually looks like but her mashed potato’s otherwise (I forgot her exact words to describe “not good”).

To cap our dinner, I picked up a venti vanilla soy latte + a double chocolate walnut brownie from Starbucks. As usual, my name got murdered. :(

Twas too cold and not exactly “herbed” as was stated on the menu. Loved the tomatoes, though. :)
